Spec-tacular

Discerning eyewear

Loved this Nokia promo.

These glasses don't even look that dorky, do they? Although they did make the lady in the video look pretty pleased with herself.  One point of interest from my daughter (who loved the background music) - a lady this fair needs to apply her suntan cream a bit more liberally than she did in the clip.  Maybe she was distracted by the sensory overload from her glasses.

Seriously though, this is an exciting new technology.  I'd love a pair of these.

Google Glass

Google Glass
There's been a lot of chatter about Google Glass, a promising new technology where a head mounted camera, high definition display and internet connection allow the wearer to appear instantly connected.

Unfortunately the power of this technology to invade other people's privacy is proving to be a real concern.  The opportunities for abuse are enormous.

Whether Google Glass will become a hugely popular consumer product or whether it will be banned from sale remains to be seen.  This kind of technology is clearly the next iteration in a connected world and brings with it ethical dilemmas just as it poses endless positive possibilities.
