Why, such a person is all of these things and so much more.
Like Babbage's difference engine, such marvellous machines now find an audience only in museums of technology. They have long since been surpassed by capacitors and transistors, diodes and resistors, none of which have the romance of a precision mechanical machine.
We owe these inventors a huge debt of gratitude.
